What you must know: 3 major factors affecting HK private dentists' charges

Three factors shape private dental fees in Hong Kong: the dentist's qualifications, the clinic's equipment and the treatment plan you choose.

Although private dentists charge more expensive than public hospitals, they can provide patients with more comprehensive and personalized dental care. With higher service quality, can effectively solve the dental problems that have been plagued by patients for many years. So there have been many people seek for their own exclusive family dentist in recent years. If you are considering finding a suitable private dentist clinic, you must know the following 3 factors that affect the charges of private dentists:

1. Dentist's qualifications
The price of service provided by private dentists will be affected according to the qualifications and experience of the dentist in the clinic. Dentists with higher qualifications and more professional skills will be charging higher fees. However, for oral health, you should choose a dentist with sufficient experience and qualifications. Do not choose private dentists with insufficient qualifications because of cheaper price.

2. Clinic's equipment
The more advanced and complete the medical equipment used in the dentist's clinic, the higher the charge. For example, to achieve more precise results when performing root canal treatment, doctors will use larger and expensive instruments such as microscopes; or when performing root canal treatment, the instruments used will also be based on their disposable or reusability, etc. There are different charging standards depending on the factors.

3. Treatment plan
The severity of the patient's own condition will also affect the charge. Periodontal disease and tooth decay can range from mild to severe, and the charge will depend on the treatment plan chosen by the patient. For example, the cost of a treatment plan for the current disease and a treatment plan for the root cause of the underlying problem are different.
